Made in India, Engineered at IIT Delhi, Lived in Malaysia, Employed at Sea, Mastered Industrial Design at Georgia Tech, working as an Experience Designer & Design Evangelist!
That's me in summary. Let's dive in for a bit more!
Hi, I am Shiva. I graduated from the School of ID at Georgia Tech. Currently I am working as a UX/UI Designer in a B2B software solutions company. Besides my conventional role of UX/UI Designer, part of responsibility is to forge a design culture in an engineering heavy company. I conduct company wide lectures and workshops to educate various team members about Design Thinking and open a dialogue on how to better utilize UX designers in the projects.
In my free time I work constantly to improve my skills in sketching, 3d modeling and 3d printing. I am also about to start an online course to learn javascript, so that I can learn Unity.
Right after undergrad from IIT Delhi in Production and Engineering I worked as a Business Analyst learning about market research and analysis. I learnt a lot but I realized I belonged with machines and I joined Offshore Construction. I worked on ships for five years, installing and fixing platforms and oil rigs across south-east Asia. I was the lead field engineer for the heaviest platform in South-East Asia - MNP Jacket - 29.5 million pounds.
Six years of work experience, more than decade worth of knowledge and a lifetime of dreams; I have given my own vision to ID - Scalene Designs. Visit 'the Story' for a snapshot!
I am a newbie triathlete, an amateur runner, a semi-pro chef and a pro hustler. I like to keep things moving. I am trying to shape this website to capture my different experiences, so please visit me back soon!
